Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager with supervising staff, inventory, stocking, paperwork, and daily store needs. This role focuses on developing internal candidates for future Store Manager opportunities and will be for a limited duration.

The position involves hands-on merchandising, cash handling, operating the store in the manager’s absence, and ensuring compliance with policies while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years leadership/managerial experience.
• 2+ years retail grocery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising and staging, stocking and storage of merchandise.
• Assists in inventory management, including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork and controls.
• Implements in-stock targets through prescribed ordering practices.
• Provides customer service leadership and fairness in operations.
• Follows company policies and SOPs; supports store opening/closing.
• Maintains cash control and secure handling of funds; supports assets protection.
• Maintains clean, safe stores and work environment for customers and employees.
• Reviews operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

2+ years leadership/managerial experience
