Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support store operations, supervise staff, manage inventory, stocking, receiving, and paperwork under the Store Manager's guidance. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

Responsibilities include assisting with recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, and maintaining a safe, well-stocked store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Some store locations may prefer bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stock organization according to store guidelines.
• Help manage inventory with proper records, damages, markdowns and scanning.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and set an example in policy adherence.
• Participate in opening and closing store activities and cash handling controls.
• Support in maintaining store cleanliness and safety for customers and staff.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
