Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager with staffing, inventory, merchandising and daily store operations. This role develops external candidates for the Store Manager track and remains in a limited timeframe.

You will help in recruiting, training, and supervising staff, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while maintaining a safe, well-stocked, and customer-friendly store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and inventory control would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and proper signage and pricing.
• Assist in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and receiving paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and act as a role model for store procedures.
• Participate in opening/closing, bank deposits, and cash controls.
• Review operating statements for sales, labor, profitability, and inventory turns.
