Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead store operations, staffing and customer service in a high-volume setting. You will oversee hiring, training, performance evaluations and compliance with policies to optimize profit and efficiency.

You will also manage inventory, pricing, signage and cash handling while ensuring a clean, safe and welcoming shopping environment for customers and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and operating instructions.
• Experience recruiting, interviewing, and hiring staff with legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to policies; ensure store is staffed.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Recommend pay rates and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open and close the store reliably and maintain staffing as required.
• Evaluate store financials, trends and inventory control to meet targets.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing, signage and stock levels.
• Maintain cashier accountability and store security practices.
• Lead customer service excellence and a clean, safe store environment.
