Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. You will recruit and train employees, conduct evaluations, manage cash and inventory, and ensure safety and policy compliance.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, driving sales and profitability, maintaining inventory accuracy, and leading a team to deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Ability to recruit, hire and retain staff in a retail environment.
Ability to train employees and conduct performance evaluations.
Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per laws and policies; ensure proper staffing.
Provide training, conduct evaluations, identify gaps and counsel as needed.
Recommend pay rate and advancement for staff.
Set expectations and communicate performance, safety, and policies; lead meetings.
Open/close store at least twice per week; ensure staffing and operations.
