Job summary

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures.
• Able to perform basic math calculations and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Knowledge of IBM cash registers to generate reports.
• Inventory management and merchandising knowledge.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills and knowledge of recruiting/hiring practices.
• Knowledge of cash, safety controls and store security.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; address gaps or counseling needs.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store as required, minimum twice weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements for trends, profitability, and shrink.
• Manage stock replenishment and inventory cycle counts.
• Stage, stock and store merchandise per company processes.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing and signage are correct.
• Maintain accurate inventory; control damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment and proper equipment.
• Follow SOPs, handbooks and company communications; complete paperwork on time.
