Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, including staffing, ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and customer service. You will lead a team, ensure compliance with policies, and drive sales and profitability.

Responsibilities include training staff, evaluating performance, managing schedules, and enforcing safety and cash control procedures while maintaining a clean, organized shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, basic math and reports.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and counsel or terminate when needed.
• Manage payroll decisions and advancement recommendations.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; lead meetings and events.
• Open/close store at least twice weekly; oversee daily operations.
• Analyze sales, profitability, and shrink; manage expenses and controls.
• Oversee stock planning, ordering, and cycle counts.
• Ensure proper merchandising, pricing, and signage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cash control procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service leadership and a clean store environment.
