Job summary

America’s Thrift in Houma, LA, seeks a Manager in Training to step into a full-time leadership role, supporting growth and strategic goals while rotating through sales, production, donations, loss prevention, merchandising, and customer service. You will coach and develop team members, supervise operations, and assist with onboarding, scheduling, cash handling, and maintaining presentation standards.

This role trains for permanent store management.

Qualifications

• Leadership and people-development skills to coach and develop team members.
• Excellent communication with a customer-focused approach.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, multitasking skills.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Experience leading a team of 15+ employees.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to relocate within Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia or surrounding states.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Asset Protection and People & Culture teams to investigate incidents and support follow-up.
• Delegate daily tasks to supervisors and team members to meet operational needs.
• Coordinate deposits and currency exchanges and flag cash or security concerns.
• Lead and inspire a team while maintaining a positive, accountable work environment.
• Uphold policies, safety protocols, and standards to support excellence.
• Conduct regular performance assessments and provide feedback and coaching.
• Develop team members for growth and advancement within America’s Thrift.
• Champion a culture of trust, accountability, and engagement.
• Provide coaching and discipline when necessary to supervisors and staff.
• Facilitate onboarding and ensure documentation is complete.
• Use reports to optimize sales floor layouts and inventory management.
• Oversee donations flow, safety, and compliance with regulations.
• Support store operations, budgets, and objective achievement.
• Maintain presentation and merchandising standards.
