Job summary

America’s Thrift Stores in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Manager in Training to step into a full-time leadership role. You will support growth objectives while gaining broad operational experience across all store functions, including sales, donations, merchandising, and customer service.

You will lead a dynamic team, develop talent, and partner with store leadership to drive performance, ensure compliance, and deliver exceptional shopper experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and people development skills to coach and grow the team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer focus.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Experience leading a team of 15+ employees.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to relocate within AL/TN/GA or surrounding states.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage store operations under Manager III guidance.
• Coordinate with Asset Protection and People & Culture for incidents.
• Oversee deposits, currency exchanges, and cash handling.
• Coach, mentor, and evaluate team performance.
• Ensure safety, policies, and standards across all store areas.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members.
• Support merchandising, inventory, and floor layouts.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and engagement.
• Support promotional activities and events.
• Complete onboarding and documentation accurately.
