Books-A-Million is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead daily store operations as Manager On Duty. You will collaborate with the management team to maximize sales, ensure excellent customer service, and manage staffing, training, and scheduling.

The role requires 21+ with a high school diploma or equivalent; prior supervisory retail experience is preferred. You will mentor associates, uphold company policies, and drive store performance daily.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Previous supervisor experience in retail or hospitality.
• Strong communication and merchandising skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store as Manager On Duty with the management team to maximize sales and service.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and drive profitability within budgeted expenses.
• Protect store security and manage bank deposits and cash handling.
• Hire, onboard, train and develop Associates and Leads.
• Communicate effectively with the team through daily briefings and meetings.
