Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in California to direct all store operations, drive sales, and lead a team dedicated to exceptional customer service. You will oversee perishable and non‑perishable departments, manage inventory and labor, and ensure safety and compliance across the store.

The role requires 1–3 years of retail leadership experience, a high school diploma (or equivalent), and a Food Safety certification.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business management, marketing, retailing, communications, advertising, or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of retail experience; or combination of education and experience.
• Proven success leading non-perishable and perishable department operations including profit and loss, safety, sanitation, staffing, training, and leadership development.
• Professional communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail, analytical and decisive.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, bookkeeping/accounting, time and attendance, and HR software.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Food Safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Positively shape store culture by modeling Sprouts values.
• Develop the store leadership team to deliver exceptional customer experience.
• Lead a team of ~10 people (Department Managers and Receivers).
• Motivate and develop management by embracing Sprouts leadership behaviours.
• Maintain safety, compliance and sanitation standards; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee inventory, invoices from distribution centers and vendors, and backroom organization.
• Drive sales growth and store experience with Educate and Enrich standards.
• Manage price changes and ensure accurate labeling and pricing.
