Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in Manassas, VA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to direct all store operations and deliver strong results. You will oversee perishable and non-perishable departments, motivate a team, and ensure exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment while upholding safety and quality standards.

As ASM, you will manage a team of about ten, guide daily processes, control inventory and labor costs, and support the Store Manager when needed.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business management or related preferred.
• 1-3 years of retail experience or combination of education and experience.
• Experience leading both perishable and non-perishable departments with P&L responsibility.
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail and problem solving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with bookkeeping/accounting, time and attendance, and HR software.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Food Safety certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Positively shape store culture by modeling Sprouts values.
• Develop the store leadership team to deliver a superior customer experience.
• Lead a team of ~10 Department Managers and Receivers with integrity and care.
• Motivate and develop management; model leadership behaviors.
• Drive store sales, efficiency, and customer advocacy.
• Oversee inventory management, pricing, and displays; ensure freshness and labeling.
• Manage P&L, labor, and expenses to meet targets; ensure safety compliance.
• Communicate policy changes, new initiatives, and product knowledge clearly.
• Address emergencies and issues with urgency; provide constructive feedback.
• Support Store Manager as needed and deputize in their absence.
