Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to direct all store operations, drive sales and efficiency, and lead a team of department managers and receivers. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, training, and delivering superior customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will oversee inventory, labor, and expenses, maintain program standards, and ensure accurate pricing and labeling while acting as the store leader in the absence of the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business management, marketing, retailing, communications, advertising, or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of retail experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated success leading non-perishable and perishable department operations with integrity, including profit and loss, safety, staffing, disciplinary actions, training, developing leaders, conducting performance appraisals, meeting deadlines, managing inventory and shrink, executing promotions and merchandising.
• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail, analytical, and solution-focused decisiveness.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, bookkeeping/accounting, time and attendance, and human resources software.
• Flexible to work a schedule that changes based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have and maintain Food Safety certification.
• Able to lift 60 pounds between 15 and 70 inches, with occasional heavier items.
• Push/pull requirements and stamina for standing/walking long shifts.
• Familiarity with safety, sanitation, and loss prevention practices.

Responsibilities

• Positively shape the culture in the store by modeling leadership aligned to Sprouts values.
• Develop the store leadership team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Lead a team of approximately ten people (Department Managers and Receivers).
• Motivate and develop the management team with Sprouts leadership behaviors.
• Drive store sales, team engagement, and customer advocacy through strong leadership.
• Oversee inventory management, ordering, receiving, and backroom organization.
• Ensure safety, labeling, health, and weights and measures compliance.
• Provide feedback and direction for effective communication within store teams.
• Address emergencies, outages, and issues with urgency.
• Execute P&L ownership with focus on inventory, labor, and expenses.
• Maintain compliance with audits and safety standards.
