Job summary

Family Dollar in Brandon, MS is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with merchandising, staffing, and opening/closing procedures to ensure a well-run store.

Responsibilities include mentoring Store Associates, maintaining clean and organized areas, and upholding safety and policy standards while delivering a positive shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and protect store assets.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; support loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and store policies; supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
