Job summary

Family Dollar in Brandon, Mississippi is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development on a part-time basis. You will help organize merchandise, assist customers, and contribute to safe, efficient store performance.

You will participate in opening/closing procedures, scheduling, and loss prevention while training store associates to uphold company standards and a positive shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise between delivery, stockroom, and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Support payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
