Job summary

Family Dollar in Gulfport, MS is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandise flow, and staff scheduling in a fast-paced retail environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (or equivalent) and prior retail or store-management experience. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
