Job summary

Lids is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Norridge, IL to lead daily store operations, drive sales, and coach a team of associates. You will deliver exceptional customer service, implement selling strategies, and uphold brand standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

As the leader on duty when the Store Manager is absent, you will oversee scheduling, training, and performance management, while ensuring accurate cash handling and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Established ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate verbally in a clear professional manner.
• Ability to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Act as Manager on duty for any scheduling issues, customer complaints, etc. when Store Manager is not present.
• Manage store associates through LIDS training programs, goal setting, and regular follow up.
• Administer disciplinary steps, including verbal and written warnings in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Engage team members by creating a fun, productive environment and aligning work with company objectives.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and guidelines including inventory safeguarding.
• Lead, execute and assist selling strategy to achieve KPIs, sales targets, and customer service excellence.
• Resolve customer feedback and escalations to “make it right” for customers.
• Present opportunities for Lids membership programs or in-store offers to customers.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards, proper signage, and store cleanliness.
• Open and close the store per Operations SOPs and ensure cash handling accuracy.
