Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a capable Store Manager in the United States to oversee daily store operations, staff scheduling, stocking, merchandising, and customer service. You will lead recruiting, training, and performance evaluations to maintain a high-performing team and ensure policy compliance.

Responsibilities include managing inventory, opening/closing procedures, cash control, and achieving sales and shrink targets while maintaining a safe, clean shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Experience with inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures that the store is adequately staffed and properly opened/closed each day.
