Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, staff planning, training, and performance reviews. You will ensure proper staffing, adherence to policies, and accurate cash handling while driving sales and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include managing inventory, ordering, stock presentation, and safe, compliant store operations. This role requires strong leadership and attention to detail in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Familiarity with IBM cash registers and report generation.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Recommend pay rates and advancement for staff.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; lead meetings.
• Open and close the store as required; ensure proper staffing.
• Monitor operating statements for trends, expenses, shrink, and errors.
• Manage stock by ordering, planning, and reviewing cycle counts weekly.
• Ensure merchandise presentation is aligned with company standards.
