Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager in Murphysboro, IL to oversee all store operations, including staffing, training, merchandising, and inventory control. You will drive financial integrity, safety compliance, and superior customer service while maintaining presentation standards and policy adherence.

The role requires leading a team, opening and closing the store, and coordinating with headquarters to meet targets in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Certain store locations may give preference to bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire and retain qualified employees in compliance with federal and state laws and company policies.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps for counseling or termination.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events to encourage safety and policies.
• Open and close the store each day as required.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends, expenses, shrink, and errors.
• Order to meet in-stock targets; review ordering plan and inventory issues weekly.
• Facilitate staging, stocking and storage of merchandise per company processes.
• Ensure merchandise is presented according to standards with proper pricing and signage.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and control damages and losses.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organized store environment.
• Ensure necessary tools and paperwork are available and compliant with procedures.
• Follow SOPs and deadlines.
