Job summary

TravelCenters of America is hiring a Store Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in operating Travel Store/Convenience Store functions. You’ll lead staff, drive profitability, and ensure top customer service while maintaining safety and POS operations.

The role requires supervisory experience in relevant retail settings, strong communication skills, and flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) required.
• Supervisory experience in convenience store, truck service, travel center, or related industry preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; operational understanding of POS software.

Responsibilities

• Be a leader and inspire your team to meet and exceed company standards and improve store performance.
• Coach and manage staff according to company policy; provide feedback.
• Recruit, hire, train and retain high-quality team members and recognize achievements.
• Help achieve financial objectives through effective management of people, products, service and facilities.
• Adhere to safety standards and vendor guidelines; cover duties of hourly associates as needed.
