Job summary

Dollar General in the United States seeks a Lead Sales Associate to support store operations, deliver outstanding customer service, and act in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager.

You will assist customers, operate the register, stock and display merchandise, and maintain a clean, organized environment.

This role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least six months of supervisory experience, with a focus on safety, planograms, and efficient cash handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Strong math skills for quick calculations and percentages.
• Experience with cash handling and POS systems is a plus.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to bank deposits if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate on shelves, and build displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; dust and mop floors; clean restrooms and stockroom; assist with sidewalk displays.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under direction of the Store Manager.
• Perform duties of a Sales Associate and lead in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
