Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operate a cash register, stock and recover merchandise, and perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations including fractions and percentages.
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle cash accurately.
• Knowledge of cash handling and safety policies.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to deposit money at the bank.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock, rotate on shelves, and build displays per planograms.
• Clean the store; take out trash; mop floors; clean restrooms and stockroom.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager direction.
• Perform duties typically performed by Store Manager in their absence.
