Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, customer-focused store. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, stock and display merchandise, and help with opening/closing store duties.

The role includes acting in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager. Key responsibilities include superb customer service, accurate cash handling, adherence to planograms, and maintaining a safe, clean shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Strong math skills for calculations and handling cash.
• Experience using cash register functions and basic store software.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment, and bag merchandise.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays and complete planograms.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; assist with opening/closing duties as directed.
• Support management in store operations and in absence of Store Manager.
