Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to uphold a customer-first store environment. You will assist customers, manage transactions, restock shelves, and support store operations under the guidance of the Store Manager.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to read planograms while maintaining efficient cash handling and merchandising standards across the store.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Ability to operate a cash register and process transactions.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and cashier accountability.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment, make change, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate on shelves; build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; dust and mop floors; clean restrooms and stockroom; assist with sidewalk displays.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under direction of the Store Manager.
• Perform duties of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence.
