Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, customer-first store. You will help customers find merchandise, operate the cash register, stock shelves, and support store leadership in daily operations and in the absence of the Store Manager.

You will follow company processes, handle cash, and contribute to profitability while protecting assets. This role requires teamwork in a fast-paced environment and potential mobility between stores.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; focus on customer service.
• Ability to perform basic math and handle cash accurately.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and assist customers.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, collect payment, and bag items.
• Stock and rotate merchandise, build displays, and set up displays per planograms.
• Clean the store, handle trash, and maintain a tidy environment.
• Open and close the store as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform duties of Sales Associate and act in lead capacity in the absence of management.
