Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, stock shelves, and support management in day-to-day operations.

The role combines frontline sales with leadership in the absence of Store Manager, promoting profitability and excellent customer experience in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow planograms.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash handling and safety policies.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 55 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank for deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases; collect payment and make change.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves; restock and build displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; clean restrooms and stockroom.
• Assist in planogram implementation and maintenance.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager direction.
• Perform duties of Store Manager or Assistant Manager in their absence.
