Job summary

Dollar General Lead Sales Associate position seeks a customer-focused leader to assist shoppers, operate the cash register, stock merchandise, and maintain store cleanliness. The role acts in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager and emphasizes profitability and safety.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent with supervisory or related experience, strong communication, math, and cash-handling skills, and ability to follow planograms and store procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and procedures.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment, and assist customers with merchandise.
• Follow company work processes to receive, open and unpack boxes, stock merchandise, and build displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; mop floors; clean restrooms and stockroom.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under direction of the Store Manager.
• Perform additional duties typically performed by Store Manager in their absence.
