Job summary

US Foods in Michigan is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee front-end operations, drive sales and control expenses, and coach staff toward strong customer service and shrink reduction.

You will partner with the Store Manager to execute the Annual Operating Plan, lead training, schedule staff, and ensure compliance with company policies while maintaining a safe and welcoming store environment for customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years experience in a retail environment.
• At least two years of management/supervisory experience.
• Ability to work a flexible hourly schedule, including holidays and weekends.
• Proficiency with computer use, spreadsheets, word processing, email, and internet software.
• Cash handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach employees in providing efficient and friendly service at registers and throughout the store.
• Address personnel and performance issues, including coaching and warnings.
• Collaborate with Store Manager and HR on progressive discipline when needed.
• Ensure compliance with personnel policies and procedures.
• Understand and translate the Annual Operating Plan into monthly P&L metrics.
• Assist in budgeting and shrinkage management with focus on front-end processes.
• Participate in annual inventory processes and staff training on programs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and store SOPs; maintain a safe environment.
• Interview, hire, orient, and train assigned staff groups.
• Provide day-to-day direction including schedules and sales/shrinkage targets.
