Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana is seeking a Sales Floor Lead in Metairie, LA to support day-to-day store operations, supervise floor staff when needed, and help drive sales while upholding company standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 6 months supervisory experience or 90 days in the service industry, strong English communication, flexibility, and a commitment to training new hires.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 6 months supervisory experience or a minimum of 90 days in the service industry.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
• Prior work experience in the service industry preferred.
• Must successfully complete Retail training.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register, process payments, and authorize voids, returns and credits.
• Ensure proper rotation of store merchandise.
• Act as a positive role model for employees and trainees.
• Stock the sales floor and maintain a presentable store image.
• Maintain safe conditions in shopping areas.
• Keep store clean and hazard-free, including bathrooms.
• Observe personnel and safety policies and procedures.
• Perform Sales Floor Associate duties as needed.
• Attend regularly scheduled shifts.
• Complete daily floor checks and monthly safety inspections.
• Ensure proper orientation of new hires within the first week.
• Assist in controlling expenses to meet revenue targets.
• Assist in training and mentoring Sales Floor Associates and community workers.
• Assist in supervising and recommending disciplinary actions.
• Monitor receiving, pricing and display of merchandise.
• Record and balance cash receipts, make deposits.
• Assist in preparing personnel and payroll records.
• Complete other paperwork for day-to-day operations.
• Any other duties as requested by management.
