Job description

We are so much more than a Parts Store and we are looking for even more great talent to join our NAPA family! As a NAPA Counter Sales associate, you are considered the “face of the retail store” and the go-to person for customers entering our retail stores for their automotive needs. You don’t need to be able to tear down and rebuild engines (though that’s a plus), but a background and knowledge of automotive parts is essential.

What you will be doing:

  1. Providing auto parts solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person and over the phone.
  2. Using your parts knowledge to assist team members in answering customer questions.
  3. Providing outstanding customer care and interactions.
  4. Bringing customer focus and high energy to our fast-paced stores.
  5. Welcoming retail customers and engaging with them to ensure a positive experience.
  6. Using technology (computers, cash registers, telephones, paper catalogs).

  2. Have gained experience in the automotive industry or through personal tinkering and repairs.
  3. Are willing to learn all things automotive if you lack background in auto parts.

What you’ll need:

  1. Valid Driver’s License.
  2. Experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or willingness to learn.
  3. High School Diploma or GED; technical or trade courses are a plus.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Enjoy fast-paced retail environments.
  6. Great listening skills and empathy for customers.

Additional preferred qualifications:

  1. Passion or background in automotive, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
  2. Experience in parts store, auction, retail, or auto body/collision.
  3. Knowledge of cataloging and inventory management systems.
  4. Customer-centric attitude.
  5. ASE Certifications (a plus but not required).
