Job summary

The Fresh Market in Evansville, IN is seeking a Co-Store Director who will drive store performance and guest experiences. This leadership role requires guiding daily operations, developing teams, and ensuring alignment with brand standards and community engagement.

You will partner with the Store Director, oversee multiple departments, manage key financial metrics, and foster a culture of hospitality and excellence across the store floor.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hospitality, or general business.
• Demonstrated success overseeing multiple departments or store-wide operations.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to achieve sales, margin, labor, and operational goals.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain after hire.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Model and promote values of passion, excellence, hospitality, and teamwork in every interaction.
• Serve as a visible, accessible leader on the sales floor and engage with guests.
• Recruit, hire, and develop team members, building a strong pipeline of future leaders.
• Oversee sales departments to reflect local guest needs and brand standards.
• Manage financial areas including sales, gross margin, labor planning, inventory control, and shrink reduction.
• Partner with department managers to ensure effective ordering, scheduling, and workload planning.
• Maintain full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as brand ambassador, representing The Fresh Market with hospitality and professionalism in-store and in the community.
• Build relationships with guests, respond to questions, and resolve concerns.
