Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan and run kids' birthday parties and other store events, delivering a fun, engaging customer experience.

You will assist shoppers, handle checkout support, and support omni-channel processes while maintaining store standards. You will engage guests of all ages, lead activities and crafts, manage administrative tasks, and ensure safety and cleanliness during events.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in crafts, perform face painting and activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Answer emails, make calls, and complete paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans based on feedback and needs; create backup/emergency plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction and maintain cleanliness and safety standards during events.
