Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is hiring for an in-store Event Coordinator to plan and run multiple events, including kids’ birthday parties, in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You will assist guests, guide product searches, and ensure smooth checkout while delivering the brand promise.

Responsibilities include managing event logistics, updating clients, and supporting omnichannel processes such as BOPIS and SFS. Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to handle multiple events and clients simultaneously.
• Experience working with children and children’s events is preferred.
• Retail experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events (including children’s birthday parties) in-store.
• Provide friendly customer service and help guests shop and check out quickly.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative atmosphere.
• Demonstrate crafts, supervise activities, and manage add-ons (balloons, goody bags).
• Communicate events to clients and store team; handle emails and calls.
• Assist with truck unload, stocking, and planogram tasks as needed.
