Job summary

Steve Madden is seeking a Store Assistant Manager (full-time) to collaborate with the Store Manager on daily operations and develop a team of brand advocates to deliver an exceptional customer experience aligned with the brand.

This role focuses on profitability through engaging customers, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention while ensuring compliant store standards. You will participate in hiring, training, and overseeing store activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager to maximize profitability through engagement, merchandising, operations, and compliance.
• Create exceptional customer experiences with a client-focused, collaborative approach.
• Implement visual merchandising directives to support brand strategies.
• Ensure replenishment of merchandise on the selling floor.
• Maintain compliance with loss prevention and safety policies and procedures.
• Assist in training, operations, sales, merchandising, inventory management and store administration.
• Foster development and accountability within the team.
• Process information or merchandise through the POS system.
• Assist in hiring qualified candidates.
• Be flexible and perform duties beyond the role as needed.
