The Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa is seeking a Stewarding Supervisor to lead the Stewarding team and maintain high back-of-house standards across loading dock, kitchen, dish room and related areas in Monterey, CA.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of stain removal and chemical cleaning agents and operation of different types of equipment.
• Able to learn Hazardous Chemical training standards.
• Able to communicate effectively with others.
• Very detail oriented, to ensure the quality of cleanliness.
• Ability to interpret and follow written or oral instructions.
• Print and speak simple sentences in English.
• Able to maintain good working relationships with other departments, associates and guests.
• Meets legal age requirements for the position.

Responsibilities

• Direct and inspect the daily work of all employees assigned to the Stewarding department.
• Organize, maintain, and distribute all equipment used by the restaurant departments regarding china, glass, silver, and equipment.
• Coordinate with Executive Chef regarding major grievances and daily issues.
• Train all new hires as assigned.
• Function as a liaison between Stewarding and other F&B department supervisors.
