Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Boston is seeking a full-time Steward to support our Food and Beverage team. Based in Boston, the Stewarding Department ensures the cleanliness of china, silverware, glassware, and cookware, while upholding food safety standards.

The role reports to the Sous Chef and requires at least 2 years in a similar position; English proficiency; ability to lift up to 40 pounds; and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Washing all hotel china, silverware, glassware, service ware, and cookware.
• Cleaning of all food service serving pieces and related cookware and tools.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of Food and Beverage equipment and areas.
• Sorting of food and beverage waste into proper streams for disposal, recycling, and composting.
• Transporting food, dishes, glasses, silverware, and serving pieces throughout the hotel facility.
• Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation rules and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Mandarin Oriental, Boston is looking for a full-time Steward to join our Food and Beverage team.

About The Job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston within the Stewarding Department in Boston, Massachusetts, the Stewarding position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all hotel china, silverware, glassware, service ware and cookware.

The Steward reports to the Sous Chef.

As Steward You Will Be Responsible For The Following Duties

• Washing all hotel china, silverware, glassware, service ware, and cookware
• Cleaning of all food service serving pieces and related cookware and tools
• Maintaining the cleanliness of Food and Beverage equipment and areas
• Sorting of food and beverage waste into proper streams for disposal, recycling, and composting
• Transporting food, dishes, glasses, silverware, and serving pieces throughout the hotel facility as instructed
• Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation rules and guidelines
• Other duties as assigned by management

As Steward, We Expect From You

• Minimum of 2 years in a similar position, luxury hospitality strongly preferred
• Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
• Must be able to walk and stand for entirety of shift
• Must be able to regularly lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
• Flexible scheduling availability to include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Compensation

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $33.07.
