Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support decontamination, assembly, inspection, wrapping and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. You will work closely with OR staff to ensure timely sterile products, trays and case carts while maintaining excellent customer service.

Required is a high school diploma and CRCST/CSPDT certification; formal sterile processing training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Formal Sterile Processing program preferred.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination and assembling of basic trays and instruments.
• Provides timely sterile products and case carts in coordination with OR staff.
• Sterilizes instruments and trays following manufacturer instructions and policies.
• Organizes workload to maintain continuous workflow between OR and Sterile Processing.
• Follows universal precautions and maintains patient safety and privacy.
