Job summary

Methodist Hospital Landmark is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to clean, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and store surgical instruments for patient care. The role supports surgery and other hospital departments by providing properly prepared instruments with strict adherence to infection control practices.

The position requires a Highschool/GED, with a preference for 1 year of experience and CRCST/CSPDT certification.

Qualifications

• Required: Highschool/GED.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Applies the principles of asepsis to ensure the prevention of infection and maintain optimum patient care.
• Demonstrates compliance with patient safety initiatives and universal precautions as required by hospital policies.
• Inspects, assembles, and tests instrumentation for proper functioning and reports missing or malfunctioning items.
• Assembles instrument packs and trays for sterilization and accurately labels items to be sterilized.
• Controls the sterilization process and maintains documentation of washing, sterilization, and testing.
