Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to decontaminate, clean, process and sterilize supplies for the hospital and clinics. The role includes charging and logging service and patient charges for the OR, plus daily biological testing.

Required is completion of an accredited Sterile Processing program or 18 months of relevant experience, plus CRCST or CSPDT certification and flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing school or Surgical Technology program or 18 months Sterile Processing experience.
• Knowledge of infectious control techniques and medical terminology.
• Current CRCST or CSPDT certification with CEU renewal.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process and sterilize supplies and equipment for the hospital and clinics.
• Charge, bill and log service and patient charges for the OR as needed.
• Perform daily biological testing and participate in performance improvement projects.
