Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment across the hospital and clinics. The role involves participation in improvement projects and occasional floating to different locations.

The candidate should have an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology education or relevant experience, possess CRCST or CSPDT certification, and be able to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program or 18 months Sterile Processing experience.
• Float to all UCI Health locations as needed.
• Knowledge of infectious control techniques and medical terminology.
• Current CRCST or CSPDT certification; maintain via CEUs and renewal.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment hospital-wide.
• Contribute to performance improvement projects and handle special assignments.
• Float to multiple UCI Health sites as required.
