Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Central Sterile Tech to perform decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies across hospital locations. The role requires adaptability to float to multiple sites and to work varying shifts.

This position contributes to patient care by ensuring sterile equipment readiness, conducting daily biological testing, and supporting performance improvement projects within the department. Training and compliance with infection control standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program, or 18 months Sterile Processing experience.
• Must float to all UCI Health locations as needed.
• Knowledge of Infection Control techniques and medical terminology.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Preferred: experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment for the department.
• Charge, bill, and log service and patient charges for the OR.
• Perform daily biological testing.
• Participate in special projects and performance improvement initiatives.
