Job summary

Methodist Hospitals seeks an experienced Sterile Processing Lead to oversee staff, quality, and workflow. You will coordinate decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certificate in Sterile Processing preferred.
• Certification (CSPDS/CSPDM/CHL/CHMMC/CRCST) required within 6 months of employment.
• 2+ years lead/coordinator experience preferred in sterile processing or OR management.
• 3+ years instrument processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Sterile Processing staff and provide input for discipline and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with OR, cath lab, nursing and other departments and Sterile Processing staff.
• Ensure safe and efficient decontamination, assembly, wrapping and sterilization of instruments.
• Plan OR readiness and prep for surgeries; ensure sterilized instruments are available for cases.
• Maintain instrument inventory, tracking, and distribution per hospital policy.
• Follow standards of AORN, AAMI, CDC and hospital procedures; conduct QA testing on sterilization methods.
