Job summary

Advocate Health Care seeks an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our SPD operations. You will assemble, decontaminate, and verify surgical instruments and sets, ensuring cleanliness and proper performance for every case.

In this role you’ll supervise staff, manage instrument inventory, coordinate with vendors, and uphold quality control and safety. On-site responsibilities include collaborating with operating room teams and sustaining efficient workflows, with on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2-3 years SPD experience.
• Certified Sterile Processing Tech.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and decontaminates miscellaneous surgical instruments and sets.
• Ensures instruments are clean, properly assembled and fully functional.
• Maintains instrument inventory and coordinates with vendors for service/repair.
• Provides supervision and guidance to SPD staff for efficient operations.
• Monitors quality and safety procedures in the decontamination area.
• Assists in organizing workflow and scheduling to meet the operating room needs.
