Northwestern Memorial Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support licensed nursing staff in direct and indirect patient care. The role emphasizes patient safety, documentation, and responsive communication on a busy unit.

Candidates should be a CNA or nursing student with rotations, CPR certified, and able to perform measurements, glucose monitoring, phlebotomy, and routine care tasks under RN supervision. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are provided.

Formación

• CNA certification or nursing student who completed basic clinical rotations.
• CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
• Minimum 90% on annual mandatory Health and Safety Training quizzes.
• Unit based recognition for Capillary Blood Glucose Monitoring.
• High school diploma required; one year of college or nursing education or equivalent preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Direct patient care: assist with admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Takes and records vital signs, weights, and intake/output for adults and neonates.
• Administers basic procedures and supports RN in direct care activities.
• Responds to patient call lights and ensures patient comfort and safety.
• Maintains clean, safe environment and assists with supplies and equipment.
