Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Patient Care Technician for the Stem Cell Oncology unit in Chicago. The role supports Registered Nurses in direct and indirect patient care on a night shift part-time basis.

Responsibilities include vital signs, newborn care in the nursery, post-operative assistance, and timely response to patient needs. Requires CNA certification or current nursing student status, CPR (BLS), and solid health and safety training.

Qualifications

• CNA Certification or currently enrolled in nursing program is required or preferred.
• CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
• Minimum of 90% on mandatory Health and Safety Training quizzes.
• Unit based recognition for Capillary Blood Glucose Monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the Registered Nurse in direct and indirect patient care.
• Perform and document vital signs, intake/output, and routine measurements.
• Provide newborn care and assist with post-operative activities as directed.
• Respond to patient calls and ensure safety and comfort for patients.
