Job summary

The Castle Hill YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater New York, seeks an Activity Specialist for STEM in Bronx, NY. The role centers on delivering age-appropriate STEM instruction in the Y Afterschool program, creating engaging projects, and supporting students’ growth through hands‑on activities.

Under supervision, you will design lessons, manage materials, assess progress, and help prepare an end‑of‑cycle showcase while maintaining a safe, inclusive environment for all participants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college credits in related field preferred.
• Minimum two years of STEM-related experience with youth.
• Content expert in designated subject matter and able to work with school-age children.

Responsibilities

• Design STEM curriculum with clear goals and project-based lessons.
• Lead daily STEM activities and ensure a safe, inclusive learning space.
• Prepare students for end-of-cycle showcase and document progress.
• Coordinate with staff to secure materials and ensure safety compliance.
