Job summary

The Dodge YMCA in Brooklyn is seeking an Activity Specialist to design and deliver STEM enrichment within the Y Afterschool program. Under the supervision of the Program Director, you will create age-appropriate lessons, emphasize hands-on projects, and foster a safe, inclusive space for school-age children.

You will collaborate with staff, prepare for an end-of-cycle showcase, adapt activities for diverse learning needs, and integrate literacy elements through instructions and reports while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• College credits in STEM preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in science/tech/engineering/math.
• Experience working with children under 13.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design a STEM curriculum with measurable goals tailored to different grade levels.
• Lead daily STEM activities in a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Incorporate coding, robotics, and engineering projects.
• Assist in securing materials and technology needs.
• Plan for safety and logistics of science projects.
• Prepare for end-of-cycle student showcases.
