Job summary

The YMCA of Greater New York invites applications for an Activity Specialist in STEM at the Dodge YMCA in Brooklyn. This part-time, regular position focuses on delivering age-appropriate STEM instruction, developing engaging lesson plans, and supporting an afterschool program that nurtures learning, collaboration, and personal growth.

Under the Program Director, you will design project-based curricula, supervise activities, promote inclusivity, and help prepare students for end-of-cycle

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent; college credits preferred.
Minimum two years in science/STEM disciplines.
Experience working with children under 13.
Content expert in STEM subjects and concepts.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

Design a comprehensive STEM curriculum with measurable goals.
Lead daily STEM activities in a safe, inclusive environment.
Incorporate project-based learning and diverse STEM topics.
Plan materials, safety, and logistics for projects.
Prepare students for end-of-cycle STEM showcase.
