Job summary

Triple-S Steel is seeking a motivated Material Handler to ensure safe and efficient movement of steel within storage and production areas. You will follow safety procedures, load and unload materials, operate forklifts and related equipment, and support daily productivity goals while maintaining quality standards.

This role requires the ability to read work orders, plan tasks, and collaborate with team members across departments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read work orders or receive instructions to determine material/equipment needs.
• Ability to meet or exceed minimum productivity levels.
• Ability to plan and organize work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of product and inventory control techniques.
• Ability to communicate across departments about routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Demonstrate basic math skills.
• Customer relations skills may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe methods of work and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Move steel using hand tools, forklift, or crane to storage or production areas.
• Lift up to 25–40 pounds as required and work in varying weather conditions.
• Apply proper bundling techniques and configure loads for routes.
• Maintain and safely operate tools and equipment.
• Attend required meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
